This isn’t an ‘employee handbook’ – we all know they suck. But rather than throwing you in at the deep end without a paddle (or something like that), we’ve detailed our onboarding process so you can safely make your way through the first 90 days at TP.
This is written by current employees, for future employees. We’re a busy bunch, but never unapproachable. When you get here, ask questions. As many as you can. We'll see you at the bar after successfully putting in your first day. The first round’s on us.

The design. The UX. The ideas. Illustrating, animating, producing, sometimes yelling at InDesign. That’s these guys.
The wordsmiths. They love coffee, Countdown, and the serial comma. Okay, maybe not them all. But they’ll spot a double space and a spelling error a mile away.
These guys will be the ones with their heads in Eloqua, Hubspot, Marketo. They’ll be researching, digging out stats, analysing campaigns, telling us how to improve those campaigns, and building media plans.
A desk covered in 10 Starbucks coffee cups, an empty pizza box, a screen that makes no sense to anyone else… These guys are the ones building and coding all day (and probably all night).
This team will be talking to the clients, setting the project timelines, making sure the milestones are met and running plans three years in advance. They’re the super organised ones making everything tick.
The first stage of onboarding is a persona workshop. This session gives full and clear understanding of the client’s target personas and their business pains. We'll also spend some time clarifying brand values and USPs, reviewing the industry landscape, and defining the buying journey.
At this stage, we’ll present and review the persona and market research, brand messaging and narrative framework that will form the overarching content strategy for the campaign or programme. Following this session, titles, briefs and proposals for individual content assets will start to be developed.
Now it’s time to review the distribution and promotional strategy that will support the programme across earned, owned, and paid media. We'll also spend time discussing marketing automation, including workflows and lead scoring, as well as initial performance projections.
The sales enablement workshops are run as three one hour sessions at key stages of the project. The objective of these sessions is to educate the sales team on the content and engagement strategy, define the sales process, and ensure there is a clear alignment between the sales and marketing function.
Just like this onboarding page is a work in progress, so is our agency. We’re not perfect. There’s just no such thing, but what we are doing is learning to get better every day. We’ll always improve. When we stop improving, we stop doing.
Our HR department is here to help you improve, to help you grow, and to help you with those day-to-day questions you may have about illness, working from home, holidays… you know the score. Remember, there’s no such thing as a stupid question.
The last thing we want is you sat at a desk, in the dark, shackled by the chains of an outdated, clunky desktop PC. Nope. We’ll give you a new laptop computer so you’re up and about, sometimes hot-desking, working anywhere you’re needed. The kitchen. The train. One of our satellite offices. A break-out area. All we ask is that you treat the tech as if it were your own.
You’ll get a shiny new laptop computer on your first day. Take care of her. If she’s ill, you can contact our IT help desk through Google Hangouts here.
Wi-Fi passwords will be given to you on your first day. Hook up your phone, your computer, your tablet. Whatever you’ve got, get yourself connected.
Workfront login, HubSpot deets, computer passwords, door fob; they’ll all be waiting for you on your first day. But remember to change those passwords.

At TP, we foster a culture that’s humble yet confident, fun yet challenging, and one that’s fuelled by brave ideas and teamwork. Most importantly, it’s a culture created by you. The best creatives in the industry, building inspiring content that helps connect B2B brands all over the world.
We’re all foodies, and there’s nothing better than a lunch outing on us. We encourage teams to go out and eat together once a month. When that happens, we’ll pick up the tab. Some of our best ideas have come about while eating Nando’s in town, having a pizza at the airport, or a takeaway at 7pm in the office. It’s probably worth pointing out we have free-food Tuesday (enough treats to last the rest of the week), so fill yer boots.
Food aside, we’ve got a pretty good social life over here. We have regular company outings. It could be a workshop around a particular company value (usually accompanied by dinner and drinks afterwards), a pub quiz (those on the winning team will get an extra holiday day!), or go-karting (get ready to get competitive). Most importantly, we’re all friends here.
At the end of three months, your line manager will arrange a review to see how well you fit into TP and how you’ve progressed in your first 90 days. We picked you for a reason, so there’s not doubt you’ll pass your probation with flying colours.
What are we looking for? Ideas. It’s always ideas. You’ve aced your first three months, passed probation, you’re on the bonus scheme, but how are you going to develop from a great employee to a super employee? That’s what we’ll work on over the next nine months.
We’re an agency in the service industry, and that means we have to smash all client expectations – and then some. If we do that, our current customers tell their friends, and they become our customers. Word of mouth and referrals aren’t just what we do for our customers, but it’s what our customers do for us.
But we can’t do that without the best people in the world. That’s where you come in. That’s why we work our butts off to make you the best you can be.
When you’re the best you can be, we’re the best we can be.
Thanks for reading this page. It’s a work in progress. You’ll see it update from time-to-time so stick it in your bookmarks and use it when you need a link, some inspiration, or want to suggest any additions.
You’re fully part of the TP family now, and we can’t wait to get going.
Be inquisitive, be brave, be adventurous. Let us help you make the best of your career.
